The Chhahari Krishi Ekal Mahila Farm is a unique, collaborative initiative comprising 25 single women, all over the age of 60, who work together to manage the farm. Their primary focus is on the holistic growth and development of the farm, while placing strong emphasis on enhancing the members’ skills, ensuring their daily financial security, and supporting their overall health and well-being. The single women from the Chhahari community are actively engaged in cultivating a variety of vegetables such as tomatoes, chilies, spinach, and mint. The adoption of tunnels and water irrigation systems has notably boosted their off-season vegetable production. Furthermore, by embracing modern agricultural technologies, the enterprise has been able to maintain consistent, year-round vegetable farming without facing equipment shortages or interruptions.
